Good morning! I absolutely love, love, love chinoiserie. It is so elegant, timeless and regal looking. I hope to use it in my dining room and formal powder room.  I have looked at Gracie, Paul Montgomery, De Gournay,Stark and recently met with Audrey Sterk, a talented artist from Nantucket who I am also going to consider to complete these rooms. I also had the good fortune to visit the Gracie studio and speak with them at length about their beautiful work and get a tour of their showroom and their  many fabulous offerings. Still family owned and run, they employ a few dozen people  who run the production department. I wish I had brought my camera but this was before I knew I was going to have a blog! I saw many many fabulous things.
I have over time, collected many images, from books, magazines and the web that are "inspiration pictures" for the look I am after. So without further ado....here are some of those pictures, all to me, so very beautiful. They give a room a sort of magical quality.  I have included sources where I know them, but several of these pictures I have had for a while (well before I had a blog and knew I would be using them:) Do you have a favorite? Would love to know which!

If money was no object.....I would use this fabulous antique limited number of  french motif collection of panels from Gracie..aren't the colors amazing! (I can see this with rich green, gold and red billowy silk panels with soft lighting only from sconces and a gorgeous chandelier...while I am dreaming, make that a Baccarat chandelier!) Also love anything with pheasants
