Strolling Around Paris

There is so much to see while in Paris.  I could have spent weeks there instead of just 7 days.  Here are just some of the "ordinary sites" in Paris.  Not the grand palaces or museums....

On every street corner, instead of standing street signs, each corner building has the name of the street on an enamel sign.  At the top of each sign is the Arrondissement (or District).  This sign is in the 7th Arrondissement.  There are 20 Arrondissements in Paris.

Here is a shot of the Eiffel Tower, without Mr. Comforts of Home and I standing in front.

One of the things we did while in Paris was hop on Bus Route 69.  It took us all around Paris and gave us chance to see the layout of the city.  I snapped the picture below from the bus....loved the simple displays in the clothing stores.

See this really cool copper pot display?  It was huge....about 10 feet tall.

The copper pot display was right next to this Brasserie, where we stopped for some cheese, baguettes and wine.

This statue was in front of the Notre Dame Catherdral which is located on the Ile dela Cite - the island in Paris where the original city began.

And here is the Notre Dame Catherdral.

While walking around the grounds of the Notre Dame, I saw something funny and just had to take a picture of it.  Look closely at the picture below.  See all of the pigeons?  In the trees and on the ground?

Here is a closer look. Look at the head of the lady in the middle with the tan coat.  See the pigeon sitting there?  And on on her shoulder?  She was feeding them.  I think it is a daily occurance....

Coming up on the next post.....Do you like art?  Impressionism?  Romanticism?  French?  Italian?

Welcome Home,
Penny
