From Stained Carpet To Beautiful Hardwood

The stained, worn cream colored carpet has been removed and the new hardwood floors have been laid.

The installers had to weave the new hardwood into the existing hard wood in some areas.  Then the existing and new wood had to be sanded and 3 coats of polyurethane had to be applied.  

Here is what the new floors look like now.

I can already hear the house breathing easier...It had been left empty for two years.  I have been house whispering and the house is telling me that it loves it's new floors :-).

As I mentioned before, there is not enough time to get the house painted before we move in, but you can see some patching has been done to the walls in preparation for painting.

Today I will be at the new house cleaning from top to bottom.  Tuesday, Direct TV will be install the dish.  Friday, carpet cleaners will come and clean the bedroom carpets (they were still in good shape, and I do enjoy carpet in the bedroom).

We move one week from today.  I am taking the next several days off from blogging.  I will post after we get moved.
