It is their mission to reach hungry children through the sales of their FEED bags by raising much needed funds for WFP school-feeding operations and awareness of the problem of child hunger. It is their goal "to help FEED and educate the world's 400 million hungry children".

Rooster Party!

I am joining Barb at Bella Vista for a Rooster Party! The actual party starts tomorrow the 6th but I saw a few of you starting early so I joined in the fun!  Everyone in blog land is or will be showing off their roosters!  So after visiting me, head over to Barb's blog to see all of the other blogger roosters!

I love French Country decor.  So, I have quite a few roosters inside and outside my home.  Here are some of them.

This is a decoupage rooster I created from vintage French letters and vintage French song books.  Available here.

The original rooster paintings I purchased from Donna at Mourning Dove Cottage.

Rooster Salt and Pepper in the kitchen hutch.

A pretty rooster apron from a blog friend.

The fabric above is on my kitchen chair cushions.

High on top of the book case is a metal rooster.

This red guy was a gift from Penny at Lake Lure Cottage Kitchen.  It is now outside by my front porch.

I have these wonderful rooster napkin rings....

These rooster plates sit on my dining room hutch.

Asheville Shopping and Dining With A Blog Friend

Today my friend Penny (the other Penny) from Lake Lure Cottage Kitchen and I spent the day shopping and having lunch in downtown Asheville.

This is the Grove Arcade.  It is filled with shops, restaurants and more including a fresh produce market.

There is a lovely florist shop here too with wonderful window displays.

After shopping and walking, we stopped for lunch and a glass of wine

 at Bistro 1896.

I would show you a picture of what we bought shopping, but sadly, neither of us purchased a thing!

A Postcard

A little while back, Vee from A Haven for Vee mentioned on her blog, that she had received a post card from another blogger.  Vee graciously offered to mail a postcard to one of her readers.  I was the lucky first response asking for the postcard.

It came in the mail on Saturday.  It is not often anymore that I receive a hand written letter or postcard.  It seems the whirlwind world we live in demands quick emails.

I received another postcard recently from Melinda at Tales From My Empty Nest, while she was on vacation at the beach.  It was so sweet of her to think of me.

When was the last time you sat down to write a letter, or postcard?  For me, it was this morning as I returned one to Vee.

Carrying on the tradition, I have ONE postcard to send to the first blogger that requests one in the comments.
